I thought it was just 'normal aging'

By the time I hit 30 I was walking around in a daze, half the man I was, with no focus, no motivation and slowly getting more and more out of shape. 

I didn’t know what was wrong with me, but the decline was gradual so it took me another two years to even book a Doctor appointment. 

My bloods came back 'normal', and his best guess was that I was suffering from depression and anxiety, and needed to clean up my diet and exercise regime to get rid of the ever expanding 'dad bod'... 

So I accepted his verdict, and his meds, and thought that would be the end of it. 

But it wasn't. 

For 10 more years I struggled on. The meds seemed to make little or no difference and no matter how hard I trained or dieted I couldn't get to where I wanted to be physique-wise. 

I plodded along at work; I'd always had so many dreams and ambitions but just lacked the energy or confidence to go out and chase them. 

I was exhausted all the time; felt awful when waking in the morning and couldn't get through the day without a nap. 

And my sex drive had become virtually non-existent, much to the displeasure of my wife. 

Because the changes had been gradual, I didn't realize how bad things had got, until the night it all came to a head...

My wife and I had gone for a rare night away - without the kids in tow. 

But what should have been a romantic night was ruined by every man's worst nightmare... 

I couldn't get hard. 

I was so embarrassed and felt awful. I just wanted a hole to open and swallow me up! 

My wife was luckily very understanding, but I could see she thought it was because I didn't find her attractive anymore. 

This couldn't be further from the truth, however my body just wasn't responding, and the embarrassment was making it hard for me to explain it all to her.  

This moment was a real turning point for me... 

As soon as we were back home I knew I needed to get some kind of help, but didn't know where to turn first. 

I didn't want to just buy some 'enhancement' tablets and be doomed to taking them forever more whenever they were needed... 

I knew it was something that I'd have to fix from the inside. 

I spent hours researching online and on forums, and all roads led to the same answer; testosterone. 

I booked my bloods in at the Docs, but again they came back as 'within normal levels' and again they sent me on my way. 

So I got back online and over the course of the next 6 months or so I spent a small fortune on dietary supplements and followed the advice of 'guru's' on how to up my levels. 

So I bought in a range of 'natural' boosters which promised the earth and delivered nothing.

I changed my lifestyle; ate even more healthily, hit the gym more often, got more sleep, even tried ice baths and cold showers. 

The result? No difference whatsoever! 

It was only at a family BBQ when I was chatting to my brother in law about how I was going to the gym but my body wasn't changing (I would never confide in him about the problems I was having in the bedroom!)...

He said some guys at his gym were raving about Testosterone Replacement Therapy and how effective it was. 

But this wasn't through the GP - they're not specialized enough. It was through another emerging company who were exploding rapidly in the market place.



For a long time I couldn't find the connection between what was happening to me and how I could get back to feeling more human again.

And, sure enough, though I was fit and young, I had low T levels for my age.

Needless to say, as a guy, I freaked. But when the doctor came to me with his solution (testosterone replacement therapy), I said I’d handle it.

Although obesity is often blamed as the culprit for the decline, these studies found that although being a factor, this was unlikely to be the reason for the decline.

The most likely candidate is pollution. Research has shown that chemicals that are commonly found in medicine and pesticides inhibit testosterone. These chemicals are seeping into our water, contributing to fertility problems in fish. The researchers also speculate that this same mechanism is occurring in humans as well.

In short- there have not been many studies into the reasons why... while that's slightly worrying we need to concern ourselves more with what we can do about it... 

Which thankfully is more clear-cut.

What you have to understand is that it’s not your genetics that are holding back from getting ripped, jacked, energetic, happy, and successful, it’s your hormones.

Standing atop a mountain in Maui, staring down the slide that the fine gentleman who owned the property had constructed, I determined that no matter how fast I went I wouldn’t slow down.

Wanting to test not only my own limits and fears, but also how well this slide was constructed, I took a running start, launched on to me arse, perched my hips in the air so only my upper back and heels were touching the bottom of the slide, and sped off with a smile on my face…

A few seconds later, after some dicey turns and some close calls, I was skidding face first on the lava rock that surrounded the pool at the base of the slide.

My belly looked like a peeled raspberry.

I was bleeding profusely, yet no amount of pain or blood could wipe the smile off my face.

It’s this trip to Maui, and this “accident” on the insanely poorly constructed slide, that first showed me the true power of optimal testosterone levels.

Only a few months earlier I’d found out that I had low T levels when I went to the doctor and demanded a blood test. I’d been doing some reading into how low T levels show themselves….  

What I did know was that TRT is basically glorified steroids. They’re injections that replace your body’s natural ability to produce testosterone.

After a few months on TRT you can no longer produce testosterone optimally. You become dependent on the expensive injections that puff the pockets of your doctor.

It was this test that set me on a 6-year quest to figure out how to naturally increase my testosterone levels, not just to “acceptable levels” but to the highest levels a human male could possibly naturally create.

… And it was this trip, only a few months after that test, that made me realize I was on to something.
